Comparing New Hampshire Real Estate Property Taxes

real estate For example:
If the town's Full Tax Rate is $30.00 per thousand and the property is valued by the Town at $100,000.00 (the assessed value) and the assessment ratio is 90%, at $30.00 per thousand, it would be $30.00 X 90% = $27.00 per thousand for your property tax. This home would receive a yearly property tax bill of $2,700.00

The price of property from one town to the next usually tends to follow the tax rate. A town with high taxes will usually have property prices that are somewhat adjusted for the high taxes. You should always determine what towns you are interested in based upon commute, lifestyle, schools and other information that matters to you and then look at each home, taking the taxes into consideration. If you eliminate an entire town because of taxes you may limit your options.
